About me

Is there something going on for you right now that you are not sure how to explain? Feel a sense of being alone, lost, worried, scared, sad, angry, overwhelmed or anxious but not sure why. Are you having difficulties in your relationship? Life can be difficult and counselling can help you explore what is going on for you, your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I believe we can work together to explore them and start to unpick any concerns or issues and begin to understand them.

Hi I’m Nikki and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with a BA (honours) in Counselling, I also hold certificates in Child & Adolescent counselling and Couples counselling. I work with individual adults, couples, children and young people.  I am currently studying a Masters in Contemporary Relationship Studies and can offer families, and small groups counselling sessions.

I am very passionate about counselling and truly believe in the unique connection that person-centred counselling offers. The open, non-judgemental environment offers you a safe, confidential and calm space to talk where you can be really heard. I am here to listen and to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences; whether past or present to help you get to where you want to be.

I work from a person-centred base but can be creative with it, some people struggle to vocalise their feelings or to understand them and by being creative there are other ways around exploring what is going on for you. Everyone is unique and we all work in different ways and that is OK, one size does not fit all. It's about getting to know you and the best way to support you. There is no pressure for time, I am there for as long as you need to come and what I love is seeing the person becoming more confident, having improved communication, healed wounds and found a path to be themselves and to move forward.

A bit about me, Counselling has always been a passion of mine but I did not get the chance to study it until I was older, and even though I was late in studying I worked in the care sector for over 15 years working with physical disabilities, the elderly and dementia, learning disabilities, Autism and challenging behaviour. I love animals and love living near the water.

I am a registered member of the BACP and work in adherence to their Ethical Framework as well as undertaking regular CPD including study around addiction, anger, attachment and trauma.

I work in private practice under the name Vita Counselling, and I also work in Cudox Therapy CIC. I truly believe in and I am very passionate about both. Contact me for a free initial consultation to see if counselling could help you.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
