About me

Is there something going on for you right now that you are not sure how to explain? Feel a sense of being alone, lost, worried, sad, angry, overwhelmed or anxious but not sure why? Are you having difficulties in your relationships? Feel as though there is no communication? Drifting apart but want to find each other and yourselves again?

Change can be a scary thought, but I want you to know I am on your side to support you. Counselling can be a really helpful process and is a very unique one. Sometimes within counselling you talk about issues that you are unable to talk about in other relationships, there is no judgement and you are truly heard.

Life can be difficult and counselling can help you explore what is going on for you, your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I believe we can work together to explore them and start to unpick any concerns or issues and begin to understand them to start to move forward.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with a BA (honours) in Counselling, I also hold certificates in Child & Adolescent counselling and Couples counselling.

I am very passionate about counselling and truly believe in the unique connection that counselling offers. The open, non-judgemental environment offers you a safe, confidential and calm space to talk where you can be really heard. I am here to listen and to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences; whether past or present to help you get to where you want to be.

I work from a person-centred base but use parts from other modalities I have learned along the way to be able to offer an individual and holistic approach to your needs. Sometimes, we dont understand or know how to express our emotions or even what emotions we are feeling and counselling can help get in touch with them. Everyone is unique and we all work in different ways and that is OK, one size does not fit all. It's about getting to know you and the best way to support you. There is no pressure for time as sessions can be as often or for as long as you need them, whether it's weekly or as and when you need to figure something out.

I love seeing a person becoming more aware, confident, having improved communication, healed wounds and found a path to be themselves and to move forward with self acceptance.

A bit about me, Counselling has always been a passion of mine but I did not get the chance to study it until I was older, and even though I was late in studying I worked in the care sector for over 15 years working with physical disabilities, the elderly and dementia, learning disabilities, Autism and challenging behaviour.

I am a registered member of the BACP and work in adherence to their Ethical Framework for good practice as well as undertaking regular CPD including study around addiction, anger, attachment and trauma.

I work in private practice under the name Vita Counselling, and I also work in Cudox Therapy CIC. I truly believe in and I am very passionate about both. Contact me for a free initial consultation to see if counselling could help you and whether you feel we fit and are able to work together. The relationship between counsellor and you is one of the most important aspect of counselling.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, please feel free to ask and questions you have.  Nikki

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
