About me
I am a dual qualified Psychotherapist and Coaching professional. I have an integrative approach, which means that as well as drawing on different psychological methodologies, I also combine therapeutic coaching.
Using an integrative approach allows me to employ the best method to help you to explore those issues and obstructions to you moving forward, then therapeutic coaching to nurture and bring about personal growth. This enables a more holistic process to therapy, ensuring you receive what you need as an individual.
My Practice and how I can help
Although we all face ups and downs throughout life, there are particular transitional phases which can present significant challenges to any of us. Be that, teenage years and into adulthood, or physical and emotional changes experienced by women each month, peri/post-natal and menopause.
You may have been recently diagnosed with neurodiversity or suspect you may be neurodivergent but don't know quite how to navigate a path forward with this knowledge.
I also work with older adults who are transitioning into the latter part of their life and the challenges this can bring.
Many of these transitions are associated with emotional change and sometimes we just need someone to walk with us on that part of the journey to acknowledge our difficulties and help steer the ship through the storm to a calmer place.
Please see below how I can help you in these challenging times.
Young people (teenagers to young adults, 11-30 years)
Many young people are struggling to navigate the social and political landscape we find ourselves in today. In addition to this, the pressures placed upon young people both academically and socially, can often lead to a feeling of overwhelm and exhaustion. This in turn, can lead to other issues such as anxiety and depression, to name just two. Young people are frequently searching for a space to be themselves without judgement and are seeking reassurance in an increasingly uncertain and confusing world.
I am passionate about providing young people with the understanding of their world as they see it, and to provide a warm and supportive environment for them to express their fears and anxieties to work through their concerns and issues without fear of judgment. By doing this I aim to help them to gain an understanding of themselves and develop their resilience and adaptability to navigate life’s ups and downs.
I am Enhanced DBS checked and Safeguarding trained.
Menopause
At this time of life, women can feel misunderstood and dismissed instead of being listened to and validated. This can lead to feelings of isolation and frustration. You may find yourself living with anxiety and/or depression for the first time, questioning your mental health.
I will provide you with a reflective space for you to express your feelings and fears which often surface during the phases of menopause, which can include those around ageing, identity and body image. This time of life often coincides with children leaving home (empty nest syndrome), caring for elderly parents, divorce and bereavement. It is therefore no surprise that this phase in a woman’s life can be challenging emotionally and physically.
By normalising these concerns and offering support tailored to your unique experience, I can help you to navigate this transition with greater confidence, resilience and hope. To enable you to see menopause as not a time of loss, but as an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery.
Perinatal and Postnatal
Having a baby is a life-changing event which can be extremely disorientating and can produce unexpected feelings with conflicting emotions. I will provide you with a totally non-judgmental space to enable you to make sense of these and we will work together to move you into a place of self-acceptance, self-confidence and resilience going forward.
Menstrual Psychological issues (PMT and PMDD)
Many women suffer from intense psychological challenges every month which can severely impact their relationships, work and home life. I can provide you with a validating space to explore your experiences and how these affect you as an individual and your relationships.
Older Adults and ageing well
You may be feeling loss of your past life or self and are finding it hard to live in the present and to move forward in your life with positivity and meaning.
There may be things in your past that you hang on to, which still influence your life today and serve as barriers to a more joyous life and sense of being.
At this time of life there can also be some very real physical challenges which can manifest emotionally and mentally, such as chronic illness, caring for a sick partner or caring for grandchildren. In addition to this, part of the equation could come about from relationship changes with adult children or bereavement.
You may find yourself living with anxiety and/or depression for the first time and be asking 'why'?
By talking through these difficult emotions and feelings therapy can enable you to step back and view with a different perspective. Providing a clarity which brings peace.
We can work together to figure out how the past and present may be affecting you now and help you to discover a future with new possibilities.
Non-neurotypical presentations
I work with neurodivergence and have an excellent understanding of how these factors can affect and have implications on the everyday lives of people with these disorders. I also recognise that every individual presents differently and therefore your journey in therapy will be as individual as you are.
You may be struggling with an undiagnosed disorder or have been diagnosed and finding it difficult to come to terms with, together with wondering what this means for you going forward. Although you may feel that your neurodiversity is a disadvantage to you, we can work together to leverage the genuine positives within these conditions and enable you to focus on a more optimistic future.
I offer a considered space and therapy process for those who may find the neuro-typical therapy space more of a challenge.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
