About me
Are you feeling lost, stuck, or overwhelmed? Does it seem like everyone else has their life under control while you’re trapped in a maze with no clear idea how to find the way out?
Counselling can be summed up surprisingly well using the title of the first Arctic Monkeys album: "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not."
For much of our lives, other people tell us who we are or who we should be:
"You’re the sensible one."
"You’re too sensitive."
"You’ll never be good enough."
Over time, those messages can become so loud that we stop listening to ourselves.
But deep down, something in you knows those labels are not the full story. If they were, you probably wouldn’t be here looking for therapy.
Counselling can help you untangle those expectations and reconnect with who you actually are, not just who you've been told to be.
Sometimes it’s about finding your own voice again.
Sometimes it’s about rediscovering parts of yourself that got buried beneath anxiety, stress, self-doubt, relationships, grief, or simply trying to cope.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, loss and bereavement, emotional overwhelm, and feelings of disconnection from themselves or others.
Counselling is not about having all the answers straight away. It’s about having a safe, supportive space where you can talk honestly, feel heard without judgement, and begin making sense of things at your own pace.
I offer online and telephone counselling across the UK. Many clients find therapy feels more comfortable when they are in their own familiar environment.
Online and telephone counselling can also offer:
• Flexible sessions that fit around work, family, or daily life
• Easy access from wherever you are
• More comfort and privacy in your own space
• The option to keep your camera off if that feels easier for you
Qualifications and experience matter, but so does feeling emotionally safe with your counsellor. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and supported without judgement.
Your feelings matter.
Your needs are important.
And change is possible.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call where we can talk about the support you’re looking for and whether we might work well together. There’s no pressure or obligation — just a chance to ask questions and see how things feel.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Level 7).
I continue to develop my practice through ongoing professional learning, including areas such as binge eating, dream interpretation, and a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.
I volunteer as a listener with the Samaritans, which I find both humbling and deeply meaningful. This role has strengthened my ability to support people in moments of distress, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm. I also take part in additional learning and enjoy supporting and helping to train other volunteers within the organisation.
My wider career has included work in the charity sector, including with RNIB, as well as supporting trainee counsellors as they begin their journey into the profession. Across all of these roles, there has been a consistent thread — working alongside people during times of change, challenge, and personal growth.
I value creativity and self-expression, and I understand how important it is to stay connected to the parts of ourselves that help us feel grounded and well. When I’m not working, I often spend time playing music. This appreciation for creativity and identity naturally informs my work, and I’m especially drawn to supporting people who are reflective, creative, or looking to reconnect with a stronger sense of themselves.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
