About me
Expert Psychological Therapy for Adults, Children, and The Early Years
I offer a quiet room for reflection in Uxbridge and online, helping adults, children, and parents with babies understand the deeper roots of their concerns. As a dual-trained Psychologist and Parent-Infant Psychotherapist, I provide a dedicated environment for deep psychological exploration to foster clarity and ease.
For Individuals, Parents, and Children
Individual Adult Therapy: The Architecture of the Self
We all navigate the world using templates formed in our earliest environments. These patterns determine how we relate to others and, crucially, how we experience our own emotions. In individual therapy, we place your current difficulties within the context of your whole life. By facing emotions in a dedicated environment, we learn that they are bearable. This process frees up emotional energy, allowing you to be more present and less overwhelmed by the internal world.
Understanding these adult templates naturally leads us back to where they are first formed: the foundational relationship between parent and child.
Parent-Infant Psychotherapy: The Foundational Bond
Parenthood can stir deep complexities—from postnatal anxiety to the impact of a traumatic birth. Parent-Infant Psychotherapy (PIP) is designed specifically to support the development of a healthy relationship between you and your baby (0–2 years).
• The Approach: Sessions take place on a floor mat, at your baby’s level, ensuring they are an active part of the work
• The Focus: We notice the unspoken ways you interact, exploring how your own history influences your relationship with your baby.
• The Goal: PIP helps parenthood become an easier, more enjoyable experience where both you and your baby thrive.
As the infant grows into early childhood, new challenges emerge in how they communicate their internal world and navigate their expanding environment.
Therapy for Children and Families
Early Years (Under 5s)
For pre-schoolers, understanding is achieved primarily through the quality of their play and noticing how you are impacted by one another.
• Joint Sessions: We meet together to observe the communication within your child's play and the nature of your interactions. This helps the child feel that their inner world is understood and bearable.
• Parent Sessions: Separate adult meetings allow you to talk about the challenges you face and the strong feelings that parenting inevitably stirs up.
Primary School Aged Children
As children grow, they express themselves through a combination of play and dialogue.
• Individual Play Therapy: This provides your child with a separate, unhindered space to resolve the difficulties they are experiencing away from their daily relationships.
• Joint & Parent Sessions: We also work together to think about the child’s perspective, supplemented at times by questionnaires to identify underlying concerns and build a stronger relationship between you.
• The Goal of the Work In combination, these different types of therapy—individual, joint, and parent-focused—help you feel more confident as a parent while allowing your child to feel happier and more settled within themselves.
Training, qualifications & experience
A Foundation in Psychological Excellence
I am a Counselling Psychologist and Parent-Infant Psychotherapist with over two decades of experience. Throughout my career, I have served as a Clinical Lead and supervised multidisciplinary teams of psychologists and psychotherapists. This breadth of leadership allows me to bring a seasoned perspective to the complexities you or your family may be facing.
Professional Qualifications
My academic and clinical training was undertaken at several of the UK’s leading institutions:
• Counselling Psychology: I obtained Masters in Therapeutic Psychology from the University of Surrey and a Masters (Distinction) in Advanced Counselling Psychology from the University of East London.
• Specialist Parent-Infant Psychotherapy: I formalised my expertise in early relationships at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children & Families.
• Psychoanalytic Observation: I completed a postgraduate diploma in Psychoanalytic Infant Observation at the Tavistock Institute.
Clinical Background
My practice has spanned a variety of specialist contexts, including Adult Mental Health Teams, CAMHS and dedicated Parent-Infant Therapy services. Notably, I spent over a decade within the Maudsley Hospital, working in a Tier 3 specialist team for children under 12. This role focused on the assessment and treatment of complex clinical cases, providing me with deep experience in supporting families through significant distress.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
1. The First Consultation: A Reflective Start
Many clients—especially parents—worry about what will happen in the first meeting. I hope to clarify this here to help reduce and possible anxiety.
"Our initial consultation is a dedicated 50-minute session designed for us to think together about your current situation. For individual adults, this is a space to outline your history and your hopes for therapy. For parents, it is an opportunity to bring your child, hear their perspective and discuss your child’s difficulties to begin to think about what may be helpful."
2. Clinical Supervision and Ethics
"In line with professional standards for Counselling Psychologists and Psychotherapists, I attend clinical supervision. This helps to ensure that the thinking I bring to our sessions remains rigorous. I am a registered member of the HCPC and BPC, adhering strictly to their codes of ethics and professional conduct regarding confidentiality and patient care."
3. The Environment
"Whether we meet in person in West London or via a secure online platform, I maintain a consistent, quiet environment for our work. For online sessions, I use a professional, encrypted interface to ensure our conversations remain private and contained, mirroring the stability of a physical consulting room."
