About me

I know how overwhelming looking through the listings on the Counselling Directory can be. Maybe contact a few different therapists - it's pretty standard to offer a free consultation, so you can get a sense of the different therapists out there, and choose one who feels a good fit with you. I pay close attention to the narratives we build and the disguises we assume to protect ourselves from pain. Understanding how these patterns are formed can help you decide which aspects of your life you want to hold onto, and which you would rather let go of. Together we can work on the feelings and issues that are troubling you.

Whatever is affecting you we can examine together, so you can move toward greater self-understanding and emotional wellbeing, and feel less 'stuck'. I have a previous life in the arts, which means I can bring a curious, creative approach to the work, alongside my training in the psychodynamic and person-centred traditions of psychotherapy.

Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences and our unconscious mind, while person centred therapy works more with aspects of self-actualisation and personal growth.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to holding things in or managing on your own. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you’re looking for a space where you can be met with warmth,  honesty and understanding, take that first step by contacting me for a free consultation call.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” C. S. Lewis
