Counsellor, MBACP

About me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, offering a confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about what is on your mind.

You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck. These feelings can be linked to life experiences—past or present—such as loss, relationship difficulties, or other challenges.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling can help with current difficulties or specific challenges you may be facing.

Psychotherapy offers a deeper exploration of thoughts, emotions, and patterns, including those rooted in past experiences.

Counselling is often shorter-term, while psychotherapy may be longer-term and more in-depth.

How I Can Support You

Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

You may wish to make sense of a situation, process a difficult experience, improve self-awareness, or begin changing unhelpful patterns.

I work collaboratively with you, using an integrative approach, drawing on person-centred and psychodynamic models.

Sessions

I offer:

Online sessions
Telephone sessions
Face-to-face sessions (South West London)
Walk and Talk therapy

My aim is to provide a warm, empathic, and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk therapy takes place outdoors, walking side-by-side or sitting in nature.

Some people find it easier to talk while moving, and being in nature can support emotional wellbeing, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and low mood.

Islamic Counselling

I offer Islamic counselling for those who wish to include faith within the therapeutic process, in a way that aligns with Islamic values.

Getting Started

You are welcome to get in touch by phone or email to arrange an initial session. We can explore what you are looking for and whether working together feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB).

I have worked with adults, children, and young people (CYP) through NHS Talking Therapies and other agencies, including Mindworks UK and Place2Be.

With a background in Law, I bring insight into workplace dynamics, relationships, and the pressures people place on themselves, which can sometimes lead to unhelpful coping strategies.

I regularly engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and clinical supervision to ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice. Some CPD I have completed includes:

Muslim Mental Health during Covid; Introduction to Islamic Psychology – Prof. Rasjid Skinner
Sex & Porn Addiction – Mindworks UK (Abida Ahmed, 2021)
Race and Culture Core Competency – Mamood Ahmad (2024)
Community Safeguarding: An Islamic Perspective – Bromley Council (2024)
Islamophobia Awareness Webinar – Naomi Green (2024)

Alongside my therapeutic work, I deliver community workshops designed to support both young people and adults.  Some I have delivered include:

Muslim Mental Health – Canterbury University (2023)

Navigating Muslim Mental Health during the Gaza crisis – Al Emaan Centre/Mosque, Bromley (2024)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
