About me

I am a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and EMDR practitioner offering online and in person therapy. I can offer in person therapy in a venue in Wisbech on Thursdays, and offer online therapy on Fridays. Evening appointments available.

How Therapy Can Help:

If you are struggling with depression, low self-esteem, and/ or are experiencing trauma-related symptoms following a traumatic event(s); I can support you to gain an understanding, make sense of why you feel overwhelmed, and support you to process difficult memories whether they are from the past or present.

What to expect from therapy sessions:

CBT and EMDR are both evidence based therapies for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, including trauma. Together, we can explore and gain an understanding of how your difficulties developed and how they continue to play out in your life. The aim of therapy is to help you to identify unhelpful cycles that impact on your day-to-day life, learn ways to manage/ break the cycles, and build self-confidence to live your life how you wish to live it.

Specialism in Pregnancy and Postpartum:

Alongside supporting the difficulties mentioned above, I have a specialist interest in supporting parents, in particular, within the perinatal period. I can support during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Many women/ parents can feel anxious during pregnancy and can struggle after baby is born. You are not alone, and I can offer you support with the challenges met in parenthood. I can support you to feel more confident in yourself and with baby, gain assertiveness skills to utilise in your day-to-day life, and help you to understand and challenge negative thought processes that get in the way of being the parent you want to be.

Training, qualifications & experience

In 2008 I completed my undergraduate degree in Counselling Studies with Psychology, enabling me to work towards and gain BACP accreditation as an integrative counsellor from 2010-2016. I continue to use my counselling practice as a foundation in all therapeutic support I offer.

In 2013 I graduated with a Post-graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have been an accredited member of the BABCP since qualifying.

I completed my EMDR training in 2017 and am a member of the EMDR Association UK.

I have worked within the field of mental health in the NHS since 2010 and continue to work in an NHS Talking Therapies service alongside my private practice.
