About me
I am an experienced and compassionate BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and EMDR therapist. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and able to talk openly about what may be difficult.
I work with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma. My practice is trauma-informed, meaning I place great importance on safety, trust, and working at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I understand that beginning therapy can feel like a big step, and I aim to create an environment that feels calm, respectful, and non-judgemental.
Therapy can help you make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns in a deeper way. Together we can explore the challenges you are facing, develop new perspectives, and identify practical strategies to help you move forward. Sessions with me typically involve both reflection and gentle curiosity about your experiences, alongside evidence-based approaches from CBT to support meaningful and lasting change.
Alongside my broader therapeutic work, I have a particular specialism in perinatal mental health, supporting individuals during pregnancy and the postnatal period. This stage of life can bring profound emotional and psychological changes, and I have extensive experience supporting parents through the unique challenges that can arise during this time.
In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative and thoughtful process where we work together to understand what matters most to you. My aim is for therapy to feel like a space where you can gain insight, build resilience, and feel supported as you work towards the changes you would like to see in your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
In 2008 I completed my undergraduate degree in Counselling Studies with Psychology, enabling me to work towards and gain BACP accreditation as an integrative counsellor from 2010-2016. I continue to use my counselling practice as a foundation in all therapeutic support I offer.
In 2013 I graduated with a Post-graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have been an accredited member of the BABCP since qualifying.
I completed my EMDR training in 2017 and am a member of the EMDR Association UK.
I have worked within the field of mental health in the NHS since 2010 and continue to work in an NHS Talking Therapies service alongside my private practice.
