About me
Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling with relationships that feel harder than they should? Whether you are in crisis or living with a sense that life should feel easier, counselling offers a space to slow down, be truly heard, and start to understand what's really going on, so you can move forward with more clarity and confidence.
I can help with:
- Anxiety & overwhelm
- Low mood & depression
- Relationships & family issues
- Blended and step-family relationships
Life transitions - Pregnancy & the postnatal period
Self-confidence - I work with adults aged 18 and over.
What happens in a session:
Everyone’s experience of counselling is different, but in general, our work together will support you to:
- Talk openly: Put words to what’s making life feel hard. By talking it through, you can understand what’s really going on underneath, and build confidence to manage day-to-day pressures with more clarity and self-belief.
- Understand your patterns: Recognise the situations or reactions that appear again and again and start to notice what triggers them. With this awareness, you can respond differently and set healthier boundaries in the relationships that matter to you.
- Connect the dots: See how past experiences and relationships show up in your life today, often without you realising it. Understanding these links can help you make sense of what’s happened before and to move forward differently.
What makes my practice different:
Alongside my private client work, I work with women facing some of the most difficult circumstances life can bring, including separation from their children and profound disruption to family life. This work has given me a deep understanding of how trauma and attachment can affect us all, and the power of repair and understanding.
I bring a respectful, curious approach informed by working with people from many different backgrounds, as well as my own lived experience.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a registered BACP member, holding a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and currently completing a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
I work in a relational and integrative way, meaning I can support you both with what's happening in the present and, where useful, with understanding how the past may be affecting you too.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
