About me
Hi, I'm Moeez, a qualified integrative therapist. In this fast-moving, uncertain, and precarious time period, there can be many responsibilities and problems we have to shoulder. Are you suffering from stress? Always worrying? Has your mood been consistently low recently? Not sure what your purpose in life is? Are there difficulties in your relationships? Have you not been able to process past trauma? Experiencing discrimination? Struggling with identity? Do you want clarity and awareness in how to get better?
I have extensive therapeutic experience in issues related to depression, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, relationships (divorce, cheating, ruptures), migration and diaspora, body dysmorphia, miscarriage/loss of a child, sexuality, gender, anxiety disorders, PTSD, personality disorder, psychosis, race, and religion. I tend to focus on how the past connects with the present, and build more awareness about yourself. I like to go at the pace of the client, whether it's deep exploration or a solution focus. I most commonly work from a relational perspective, and build a level of trust through the use of person-centred therapy, delve into the deeper unconscious through psychodynamic concepts, and use CBT when exploring emotions, thoughts, and experiences. I like to use Transactional Analysis to explore relationship dynamics (family, friends, work).
I also have 8 years of working in the mental health field in various sectors such as the NHS and community mental health teams, using a lot of CBT techniques to help people with personality disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, and phobias. I have specialised experience with personality disorder, having run group therapy programs (STEPPS, SCM) and one-to-one support.
Having lived in various countries from (UK, USA, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia) and being part of the Pakistani diaspora, it’s given me a unique perspective on various issues. I work in a relational and intersectional manner, taking into account people’s psychological, physical, socioeconomic, cultural, and political conditions. Our lives are more complex than just the issues we come into therapy with.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I work within their Ethical Framework. I am bound by their code of conduct and ethics to assure that your therapy will be practiced to a highly professional standard. I also continue professional development within the field of psychotherapeutic work, expanding my skills by regularly attending workshops, conferences and seminars.
I provide individual and couples counselling, online and in-person (Croydon and Banstead). I see clients in-person on from Monday to Friday, and Saturday morning.
I offer a FREE initial telephone/video consultation for 15-30 minutes. You can email me or book an intro call as seen above. If you send me an email, please let me know your availability for a phone call. Looking forward to speak to you and help you on the journey towards healing.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
