About me
Hi I’m Morag and I’m an Integrative Counsellor offering in person and online sessions to clients. As an Integrative therapist I am trained in various approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Person centred therapy, Gestalt therapy, Internal family Systems therapy, Transitional analysis etc. The above approaches allow for a combination of modalities to best suit individual client needs. I am deeply existential and place great importance on building relationships with my clients as I believe that is essential for successful therapeutic outcomes.
I have a varied career background that extends over 30 years of working with individuals and groups. I have previously managed: mental health and addiction residential projects, 16 - 25 year old single homeless units and have worked in residential childcare, both in secure and open school settings. In addition I have worked for the ministry of education psychology team in New Zealand, after being a teacher in a number of different countries. I am also a registered clinical hypnotherapist, which I still practice alongside counselling.
I welcome individuals seeking therapy to get in touch and seeing for themselves just how much counselling can help improve their lives through the therapeutic relationship and skills that they can develop to assist them through whatever difficulties they may be facing, whether past or present.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an honours degree in psychology.
I completed a BACP accredited Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
I also completed my training as a clinical hypnotherapist at the renowned Clifton Practice in Bristol, in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, and gained my diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from there.
I have a Practitioners Diploma from the National Council for Hypnotherapy, known as the gold standard in hypnotherapy training.

- I hold a qualification in online counselling.
- Level 1 & 2 Certificate in working with Domestic Violence.
- Certificates in safe guarding children / young persons & in working with vulnerable individuals.
- A post graduate module in working with alcohol and drug addiction.
- Professional Development Award in the Supervision of the Delivery of Care Services.
- Teaching Qualific.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

My practice is based on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills an area of natural beauty.
It is overlooking farmland and is surrounded by nature, and beautiful countryside, which ensures complete privacy for clients. The therapy room provides a comfortable safe space for us to work together.
