About me

Whether you are feeling stuck, experience anxiety or depression, have difficulty in your relationships or simply want to discuss what is going on, psychotherapy can offer you a new perspective. As a qualified psychotherapist, I offer a safe space for exploring what is going on for you.

Many of us have learnt to struggle on our own but I believe that by connecting with another person you may gain insight, find acceptance or different choices. I see the relationship between you and I as fundamental to both support and understand you. I therefore work in a warm, open-minded way.

I offer short and long term sessions - both online and in person. I believe it is important that you find a therapist that you connect well with and therefore I suggest we have an initial chat over zoom (free). Please contact me to arrange this.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor with a background of working in the NHS, in prison and privately. I am a full member of the professional body (UKCP) and adhere to their code of ethics.

I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I have particular experience working with stress, depression and/or anxiety, difficulty in relationships (whether personal or work), trauma (including abuse) and bilingual/intercultural relationships. I am also interested in the mind-body connection and incorporate this into my practice.

I am an anti-oppressive practitioner which means I am particularly interested in differences (whether race, gender, class, disability etc.), aware of the privilege I have as a white person and see therapy as a possibility to not only observe ourselves but also the wider society we live in.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
