MBACP Accredited, Degree in Counselling

About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with more than 12 years’ experience working in various sectors of the counselling profession.  I see people experiencing a wide range of concerns - anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family and work-related issues, people affected by bereavement, addiction, trauma, phobias, ADHD, autism, OCD - to people with diagnosed mental health disorders, often working alongside GPs and other Health Professionals.  I offer both short term and longer term counselling, and practice in Twickenham where I counsel individuals in person, as well as offering online sessions to people across West London and beyond.

Even though many of us need a little extra help at difficult times in our lives, the decision to seek counselling can seem challenging.

By offering a compassionate, non-judgemental and confidential space, I enable people to engage in therapy, exploring and understanding their emotions and experiences in a safe, grounded and effective way.

Whatever it is that you're facing, I create an environment in which to think, speak, and communicate openly, begins to feel possible. I help people explore thoughts and feelings which may have felt too difficult to share.

To take the next step, you can email, text or call me. I offer free telephone consultations, and following this an initial session can be booked.  This gives you the opportunity to experience working with me, and enables me to see how best I can help you.  Following this, if you feel comfortable working with me, and I feel I can help, we can book further sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in counselling from the University of Greenwich and I am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and practise in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

I have experience of working on mental health units in various hospitals and before qualifying as a counsellor worked for many years providing support to people in the community.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
