About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I am Michelle,  a Clinical Psychologist with over 11 years of experience working within community mental health teams, inpatient and forensic settings. I am passion about supporting individuals to improve their psychological wellbeing and meet their goals for improved mental health.

I have significant experience working with individuals who have been affected by trauma and adverse life experiences, utilising a variety of evidence based treatment approaches. I have specialised in supporting individuals who suffer from anxiety disorders such a social anxiety; generalised anxiety; panic attacks; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); phobias and health anxiety. I have also worked with people who are affected by mood disorders including depression and bipolar in addition to those who require support to understand and manage interpersonal difficulties and emotional dysregulation. Throughout my career I have worked with clients who experience these difficulties within the context of neurodiversity; including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Intellectual Disabilities (ID).

I understand how overwhelming it can be to come along to therapy and I recognise the importance of proving you with a safe space to be open, draw upon your strengths and work collaboratively with you to understand your difficulties and your experiences of these. I am passionate about supporting you to feel empowered within therapy and ensuring a trusting, compassionate, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship to support your journey towards meeting your goals and reducing psychological distress.  I integrate a variety of evidence based treatment approaches to support you to work through your difficulties and meet your individual needs.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, or alternatively, you can explore my website for further information.

Further information

At present I offer online appointments only. I understand for some this way of working may be unfamiliar and cause some anxiety, however feedback from clients suggests that there are many benefits to accessing therapy over the online video call platform. It reduces travel time and costs by allowing individuals to access therapy from the comfort of their own homes. It allows flexibility around timing and opportunities to access therapy from a space where you feel safe.

You will require adequate internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. A quiet, confidential space will also allow you to get the most from your therapy appointment. This takes place over Cliniko, a secure patient management system via a link which is emailed to you.

If you have any questions relating to this method of contact please do not hesitate to get in touch.
