About me
I am a warm and compassionate integrative therapist, meaning that I am trained in and draw upon a variety of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and parts work. I am person-centered, tailoring your sessions to your needs and preferences. I aim to assist you in building on any resources you may already have and consider your wellbeing from a holistic perspective. I am neuro-divergence informed, trauma-informed, trained and experienced in EMDR and trauma-focused CBT. I have lived experience of recovering from complex trauma.
I am an intersectional feminist, LGBTQ+ friendly, and an anti-racist practitioner. I have expertise in cultic dynamics and coercive control in high-demand groups, spiritual and religious abuse, intimate partner violence and psychological abuse. I am passionate about holding awareness of the impact of socio-political factors on mental health, and the risk of pathologising the individual for coping strategies that may have once served a protective function.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a senior clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience working in a variety of settings, mostly within adult NHS mental health services and more recently private healthcare. In the early stages of my career I specialised in eating disorders, completing a PhD in this field prior to my Clinical Psychology doctorate, which explored the link between interpersonal difficulties and eating disorders. I worked in NHS eating disorder services for around 5 years post qualifying and more recently have worked in services for complex trauma, depression and anxiety.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
