About me

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you have spent years carrying the impact of trauma, abuse, loss, anxiety, or difficult life experiences on your own. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, struggling in relationships, or simply exhausted from surviving, therapy can provide a space where you no longer have to face things alone.

I am an experienced therapist with over 11 years of professional practice, working with both adults and children. I support clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and the lasting impact of adverse life experiences.

My specialist area is supporting survivors of sexual trauma and abuse. Alongside my professional expertise, I also bring a personal understanding of the complexities of trauma and recovery. This enables me to offer a compassionate, genuine, and deeply empathetic approach while maintaining a safe, professional, and non-judgmental therapeutic space.

I understand that trauma affects everyone differently. There is no "right way" to feel, and no expectation that you should have all the answers when you come to therapy. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences, understand the impact they have had on your life, and develop the confidence and tools needed to move forward.

How I Work
I believe therapy should be tailored to you, not the other way around. Every person who enters my therapy room brings their own story, strengths, challenges, and goals, which is why I take a flexible and creative approach to counselling.

Depending on your needs, I may integrate talking therapy, creative approaches, sand play therapy, and other therapeutic techniques to help you explore experiences that can often feel difficult to put into words. For children, creative methods can provide a safe and effective way of expressing emotions and experiences. For adults, these approaches can often access deeper insights and promote healing where traditional talking therapies alone may feel limiting.

I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for clients aged 12 and over. EMDR is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that can help reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories and support long-term recovery from trauma.

Above all, I aim to create a warm, accepting, and supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. Healing does not mean forgetting what has happened; it means reducing its hold on your life so that you can feel safer, stronger, and more connected to yourself and others.

Whatever has brought you here, you deserve support. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be honoured to work alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
