About me
Hello! I’m Michaela, a therapeutic counsellor dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, as well as challenging life events like grief, bereavement, relationship breakdowns, and family issues. I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I’m here for anyone who needs help making sense of their thoughts and feelings.
I believe that connection is at the heart of effective counselling. When you choose to work with me, you won’t encounter stuffy, formal sessions filled with jargon. Instead, you’ll find a warm and welcoming space where you can truly be yourself. Picture this: just you, me, and a cosy cup of tea, creating a comfortable environment where you can speak openly and honestly. Whether you need to cry, vent, or simply share what’s on your mind, that’s perfectly okay with me! My priority is to ensure that you feel safe, heard, and valued throughout our time together, and to explore new ways to cope more effectively when life gets difficult.
I am a proud member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCPS). Additionally, I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, ensuring that I adhere to GDPR guidelines to protect your privacy. My commitment is to provide you with the highest quality of care possible.
As a qualified and insured person-centred counsellor, my mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where you can freely explore your thoughts and emotions. I embrace an inclusive approach, ensuring that everyone feels heard and respected. I am here to support you on your journey, walking alongside you every step of the way. My dedication to ongoing professional development drives me to continually expand my knowledge and skills, ensuring that I can better serve you.
Together, we’ll delve into your feelings and experiences, empowering you to embrace healing and growth. I strive to ensure that no one feels alone in their struggles.
I also have a special focus on supporting young people as they navigate the complexities of home and school life, particularly with challenges posed by neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and Autism (ASD). I understand how profoundly the pandemic has affected our youth, and I am committed to helping them find their way through these difficulties.
In my therapeutic room, you'll find an atmosphere of calm and comfort, enhanced by soft lighting that is particularly soothing for those who experience sensory overload. I embrace a creative, "one size doesn’t fit all" approach to counselling, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and experiences. This personalised approach ensures that you can explore your feelings and challenges in a way that resonates with you.
Being trauma-informed, I prioritise creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we can work towards understanding and healing.
My counselling services are designed to fit seamlessly into your lifestyle, ensuring you get the support you need, when you need it:

Additionally, I volunteer for Cruse Bereavement, further enriching my understanding of grief and providing support to those in need.
If you’re looking for a compassionate listener and a guiding hand on your journey, I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to face your challenges alone; let’s embark on this journey together. Remember, you deserve to be heard and supported, and with the right support, life doesn’t have to be so difficult.
I look forward to connecting with you! 💖

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
