About me
Therapy and coaching for neurodivergent adults in Norwich and online across the UK
If your brain has been called “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “too all over the place,” and you’ve spent years suspecting the problem wasn’t really you, you were probably right.
I'm Michael, a neurodivergent therapist and coach in Norwich. I work with ADHD, autistic, and AuDHD adults who are tired of trying to function in a world that wasn't built for them.
Who I tend to work with
Late diagnosed or self-identifying AuDHD and ADHD adults, the ones quietly drowning behind a competent exterior. Adults in burnout, not just tired, but at the point where even rest feels like another task. Anyone untangling identity after diagnosis, the grief, the relief, the rage, the question of who you are without the mask. People who spiral when something feels like rejection or criticism and can't always explain why.
I also work with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people pleasing, shutdown, overthinking, and the relationship patterns that often come with living undiagnosed for years.
Why I do this work
I spent thirty years in demanding IT roles. I burned out. More than once. Then, late in life, I got an AuDHD diagnosis, and the masking, the rejection sensitivity, the exhaustion that no amount of self-care ever touched, it all made sense.
I'm also a parent to neurodivergent kids, so I know the family side too.
When I say I get it, I mean I've been the person crying quietly after a meeting that everyone else found fine. I know what it is to look back over decades and realise there was a pattern underneath it all that nobody ever named.
That's what shapes how I work.
How I work
Not productivity advice in disguise. Not a tidy framework you have to mould yourself around.
I'm an integrative therapist, which means the approach adapts to you, not the other way round. The foundation is person-centred. I also draw on somatic and body-based approaches, because so much of the ND experience lives in the nervous system before it ever becomes thought. I use CBT and other tools when they fit, but nothing is forced.
In practice, that might mean we skip homework if your brain rebels against it. We use timers. We work in shorter bursts. We ditch the chair and walk while we talk. You set the pace and the format.
Therapy or coaching, or both
Therapy is the deeper work. Identity after diagnosis, burnout, years of masking, rejection sensitivity, shame, self-worth, anxiety.
Coaching is more practical, building systems that actually work for an ND brain, navigating work, managing executive function, finding routines that don't collapse under pressure.
Most people want some of both. We work out the mix together.
Where we meet
In person in Norwich city centre. Walk and talk sessions may also be available along the river or through local parks, often easier for brains that think better while moving. Online by video or phone, anywhere in the UK.
What people tell me they get from this work
Finally feeling understood. A clearer sense of who they are underneath the masking. Less shame, more self-trust. Hope, and a map that actually fits.
Access and adjustments
Let me know if you'd prefer email over phone, need extra processing time, want a written summary after sessions, or need any adjustments to the room. Just ask. You don't need to explain why.
