About me

Hi, I’m Mica. I am a BACP-registered, qualified Person-Centred therapist. This means you are the expert on your life. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live your life, I am just here to support you through your journey.

Opening up about your feelings and difficulties can be extremely daunting, but I will provide a safe, non-judgemental and empowering space where you can talk freely and discuss anything that may be troubling you. We will work together to ultimately improve your wellbeing and self-confidence to help you be the best version of yourself.

As a couple's counsellor, I still provide a supportive and non-judgemental space. Together, we will work on improving communication between you and your partner and learn how to listen and understand each other better.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am currently working as a Student Wellbeing Officer in college where I support students aged 16-19 with managing their mental and physical wellbeing.

I have recently completed 50hrs of CPD in Couples Counselling.

I previously worked as a listening volunteer for the Samaritans for 6 years before working towards my Counselling qualification. I also have 5 years of experience working in a school with children aged 7-11. I have worked with a broad variety of clients and concerns. Most commonly, I have worked with adults and teenagers who are dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, family issues and relationship issues.

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • BSc Psychology (Hons)
  • CPD in Couples and Relationship Therapy

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I am currently taking on new clients, both online and in person.

All sessions are 50 minutes long.

The first paid introductory session will allow us to explore what has brought you to counselling, what your expectations are and how I can help you. I can further explain more about the way I work before you decide whether or not you would like to go ahead. There is no pressure, it is important that you find a counsellor who is a good match for you.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. I am also fully insured and I attend monthly supervision.
