About me

Are you finding everything is overwhelming for you at the moment ? Would you like to work through this feeling ?

Hi, I'm Medina and as a mum of two, I understand the demands of balancing family life and personal well-being, this shapes my non-judgemental approach to counselling.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with BACP membership, fully insured and with an enhanced DBS.

I currently work as a counsellor in several high schools, supporting young people through various emotional and mental health challenges.  Within my role I have worked with people experiencing many different difficulties like depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement, self-esteem and confidence. I have also worked with children, adolescents and adults who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), where I have developed skills in offering tailored, sensitive support.

During my training, I volunteered in a SEN High School to gain experience of working with children.  I spent time in the THRIVE department, offering therapeutic support for the children who accessed the provision. I soon realised while volunteering that I wanted to work with children. I recently completed an ADHD awareness course to further deepen my understanding of difficulties people who have this diagnosis face.

I completed my placement with a domestic abuse charity, which deepened my understanding of trauma and the complexities surrounding abuse. This experience allows me to work with clients facing difficult personal situations, helping them feel heard and supported.

I offer both face-to-face and remote sessions (online or by telephone), ensuring accessibility for clients regardless of their circumstances.  I also offer free no obligation calls prior to commencing counselling.

In our sessions, you can expect a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where your feelings and experiences are fully respected.  In the safe environment I offer you will be able to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace, fostering personal growth and healing.

If you have any questions or would like a free initial call please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
