About me
Feeling overwhelmed or stuck? I'm ready to listen.
I provide confidential psychotherapy and counselling to individual adults in person, online and over the phone.
Training, qualifications & experience
I've worked in the community offering short and long term support for over five years. I work with both self-referring clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress and challenging relationships as well as individuals who have been given a range of psychiatric diagnoses, including ADHD, PTSD, OCD and schizophrenia. Through seven years of Clinical training, I obtained an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy (Metanoia Institute) and a certificate in psychodynamic psychotherapy (Birkbeck College, University of London).
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I decided to train as a psychotherapist after losing my sight in my forties. Training has reinforced the lesson of my own lived experience: I believe it's often more helpful to understand our emotional distress as a meaningful response to our circumstances and history, not just as the symptoms of a dysfunction located somewhere 'between our ears.' My clinical experience has taught me that the difficult feelings clients describe are often a valuable signal that something in their life is out of kilter and requires attention.
At the heart of my approach is a collaborative effort to reach a shared understanding of your lived experience and inner world. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and those navigating psychiatric diagnoses who may appreciate such a contextual, non-pathologising approach. Together, we can discover new perspectives to expand your
current understanding of your life. My hope is that as your perspective shifts, new possibilities will emerge for you.
