About me

Do you feel like you're performing your life instead of living it? Fine on the outside – but inside you're going through the motions, no longer sure why. Anxious, perhaps, or a bit lost. By pushing through, you've kept it from becoming a crisis. But something doesn't quite feel right, and you're wondering: is this really it?

You're not alone in feeling this way. I work with people from all backgrounds who say things look good for them on paper, but they're quietly questioning their direction, purpose or identity at their stage of life. Some are dealing with uncertainty or conflict in their personal or professional worlds. Others describe feeling anxious, numb or burned out, or caught in patterns they don't fully understand. Many have lost touch with who they really are.

Existential psychotherapy isn't about diagnosing or fixing you. It's a personalised way of understanding what's going on beneath the surface, to make deliberate choices about your future. I see anxiety, doubt and patterns that repeat themselves not as symptoms to get rid of, but as emotional signals pointing towards things that matter to you. We'll look at your feelings, values, relationships and sense of self to understand where who you are feels at odds with who you want to be. Working together will be about getting clarity on your right answers, not mine.

I enjoy building relationships with clients as two real people having a straightforward conversation – nothing detached, clinical or airy-fairy. This makes it easier to talk openly about what's actually going on, without fear of judgement or pressure to be someone you're not. I'll help you find the words for what's wrong. My clients often say our work feels emotionally safe as well as intellectually credible.

Sessions are online or in person, with no minimum commitment. Email me with questions – I usually reply within 24 hours – or book a free 20-minute consultation via my website. We'll talk about what's going on for you, how I work, and whether it would feel right for you. No pressure or obligation to continue.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a UKCP-registered existential psychotherapist with a varied career that helps me spot and question things others might miss.

  • PhD in neuroscience, grounding me in how we think, feel and behave
  • MSc and PGDip in Existential Psychotherapy, which informs how I work with people who feel stuck, are looking for meaning, or are ready to change
  • Postgraduate research into masculinity, identity, shame and pornography use, which informs my work with clients navigating emotional disconnection and self-worth
  • A background in high-pressure creative and professional services environments, giving me insight into the emotional cost of performance and ambition – and what it takes to re-orient them toward a more authentic life
  • Research supervision for postgraduate psychotherapy students, which keeps me close to current thinking
  • An ongoing commitment to my own development, not just my clients'

While my experience informs my work, I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds who are looking for meaning, clarity, and a more authentic way of living.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I work with people facing bigger questions about life choices, responsibility, identity, purpose, mortality and living authentically – and how these show up as things like anxiety, loneliness, relationship difficulties or feeling stuck.

If you feel I might be the right person to help you, even if your particular problem isn't listed here, feel free to get in touch and we can talk about it.

Additional information

Online sessions start at £95 and in-person sessions £115, with no minimum commitment. I offer discounts for blocks of 6 sessions booked and paid in advance, and occasionally have a limited number of lower-cost or bi-weekly sessions available to those in financial difficulty who would particularly benefit from working with me. I am open to sessions every few weeks once we have established a working relationship. I use recurring calendar invites, MS Teams video calls, and a one-click payment link to make the process as smooth and low-effort for you as possible. The introductory call focuses on understanding what's brought you here and how we might work together – you decide after that whether to continue.
