About me
If you are feeling stuck, struggling to find your place in life, therapy can help.
My role is not to tell you what to do, I am here to walk with you, working empathically to listen and support you in re-imagining your life to create the change you need.
‘The way we imagine our lives, is the way we are going to go on living our
lives’. (James Hillman)
I am a registered member of the ‘British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy’ BACP.
I offer regular sessions to build trust and give a structure and momentum to the therapeutic process. This might be short term or long term, depending on what help and support you are seeking.
Specialisation
I have experience and specific training in working with the following areas:
- Anxiety and negative/obsessive thinking
- Panic attacks and phobias
- Stress and burnout
- Low self-esteem and feelings of meaninglessness
- Depression and suicidal thoughts
- Redundancy and other life changes
- Relationship/sexuality difficulties
Get in touch
It is important to choose a therapist whom you connect with and trust.
To get a sense of how we can work together I offer a free introductory video call where you can ask any questions you may have about me and how therapy works.
During this time, we will explore whether a short-term or a long-term working agreement suits you best. We will also discuss the possibility to work in one of my consultation rooms in London, on-line, or outdoor in a 'walk and talk' setting. At the end of this call, we should have a good idea as to whether we want to work together and arrange a first session, although you may want to think it over for a few days.
You can book an introductory call on the Counselling Directory website or you can send me an email at oriani.counselling@gmail.com, or call me at +44 (0) 7946392570.
Health insurance
I am accredited with Vitality Health and IPRS. If you have a policy with one of these insurances, then the cost of the sessions will be covered by them.
Therapy in English and Italian
I can also offer psychotherapy in Italian.
Posso anche offrire psicoterapia in lingua italiana.
Locations
I am part of the ‘Barnsbury Therapy Rooms’ psychotherapy practice in Islington (https://barnsburytherapyrooms.com).
I also work at the ‘Psychosynthesis Trust’ in London bridge
(https://psychosynthesistrust.org.uk).
I have a consultation room at their premises in Islington and London Bridge.
Alternatively, I also work on-line.
Walk and Talk Therapy
Some people find the typical therapy setting uncomfortable or even intimidating. The benefits of access to nature have been widely documented. This is especially evident when we spend so much of our lives sitting.
Therefore I offer the possibility to have talking therapy outdoor in a park, if it feels right for you - generally Highbury fields and Victoria park.
Approach
I trained in Psychosynthesis, an integrative therapeutic approach that integrates techniques from other modalities (psychodynamics, person-centred, CBT etc.) and works not only on personal history (childhood etc.) but includes the future perspective - aspiration, purpose and meaning.
I have a particular interest in image-based therapy, drawing from Jungian
psychology. Where words alone don’t capture the depth of our experience, imagination can provide insight and help shaping our lives.
My background
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in Finance and Sustainability for over 15 years, covering leading positions for international companies in the UK, Italy and East Africa. This provides me with firsthand experience of the difficulties faced when navigating the work environment, work-life balance, and finding purpose and fulfilment in your professional life.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
