About us
I'm Matt, a qualified Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor. I offer a safe, genuine, and compassionate space for you to explore whatever is troubling you. Through the healing power of a supportive therapeutic relationship, we can work together to transform your struggles into greater self-understanding, resilience, and well-being.
Having transitioned to counselling from a background in music, I bring a sensitivity to the intricate rhythms of life's creative forces, of which, we all navigate in our own unique manner. As your therapist, I aim to support you in reconnecting with your own creativity and inner resources. Together, we’ll explore what might be holding you back and work to clear the way for more authentic, confident, and expressive living.
While I work with adults of all ages, I feel a particular resonance when supporting late adolescents (roughly ages 18–25+) as they navigate the complex transition into adulthood. This period is rich with new experiences, challenges, and profound brain and identity development. In many ways, it functions as a modern rite of passage—an in-between stage where individuals begin to step out of adolescence and shape a more defined adult self. I find it deeply meaningful to accompany people through this transformative and often vulnerable phase of life.
I am also deeply interested in mindfulness meditation and its transformative potential in cultivating self-awareness and enriching our subjective reality through an intimate connection with the present moment. I firmly believe that mindfulness stands as one of the most potent tools at our disposal for effecting positive change to entrenched patterns and ingrained modes of thought.

Member organisations *

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
