Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I provide cutting edge, research informed behavioural therapy for individuals who would like to manage their weight (gain or lose) to reach their ideal ,desired body. I apply behaviour-change models to help individuals identify the issues surrounding their weight gain/loss and to adopt healthy habits and maintain their behaviour change on a long term basis. I have a track record of helping children, families, and individual adults adopting healthy habits and achieving a healthy weight and the ideal body they always wanted.

I also help families and parents dealing with their children/teenagers and any family issues they might have. Through effective family interventions and tailor-made behavioural and psychotherapy approaches, I help parents re-build and/or strengthen their relationship with their child and enjoy their children.

Further information

I use an integrative approach as I like the possibilities that lie in combining the strengths of a range of theories and psychological therapies. Integrative counselling and psychotherapy has been proven effective in working with a wide range of life problems and diagnosis including (for example) stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss and bereavement, trauma,  immigration issues, identity problems, addictive behaviour (including substance misuse), couples problems, divorce and separation complexities, parenting and dealing with teenagers. I use the latest cutting edge Behavioural Change Models and various psychotherapy approaches such as: Solution-Focused, Brief Therapy, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt and Person-Centred, tailoring the therapy to adjust to the requirements of the individual client, as everyone has differing needs.

My practice is based on a relational approach and a collaborative way of working. I welcome questions and discussion of the process of your therapy at any time. You can expect a clear contract with me on the issues you choose to work with - I hope to support your increased freedom to make real choices in other areas of your life.
