About me
Why Therapy? For growth.
Therapy offers you an hour dedicated entirely to yourself, in a quiet and comfortable space, with someone fully committed to listening without judgement and not connected to your everyday life. You don’t need more advice - but to be understood and cared for. As that happens, you’ll find yourself stronger, more confident, and better able to face life’s challenges.
Being truly witnessed and understood in our struggles is one of the most powerful ways to feel like ourselves again. You can’t let go of emotional baggage until you’ve had the chance to unpack it — taking each piece out, looking at it carefully, and deciding what still serves you and what no longer does. My role is to help you work through that process, one step at a time.
Need help?
Sometimes we tell ourselves that we are bad, worthless, or that we somehow deserve what is happening. These thoughts often come hand in hand with feeling low, depressed, anxious to please, or struggling with self‑esteem (sometimes showing up as perfectionism). Having a counsellor who can gently listen for these signs can be invaluable. By drawing attention to your inner beliefs, I can help you see your experiences in a new light. You can break free from repetitive patterns and begin to embrace your own path.
I am a qualified professional counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP, the UK’s professional association for counsellors and psychotherapists. The BACP Register exists to protect the public and help them find therapists they can trust.
About MWT Counselling
I have honed my listening skills throughout my life. People I’ve met along the way often found it easier to confide in me - sometimes it really is easier to talk to a stranger. I am warm, empathetic, and believe everyone deserves a place to be heard.
My academic background includes two master’s degrees, one in Literature and another in Business. I’ve worked in the corporate world, volunteered as a school governor, and supported people at a Grief Centre. These experiences, combined with my desire to understand human behaviour and my ongoing passion for therapy, shape the way I work. I draw inspiration from thinkers such as Irvin Yalom, Eric Berne, Paul Gilbert, Ian Stewart, and many others.
All of this helps me understand your unique story and what a meaningful, fulfilling life looks like for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer counselling for adults, either online or face-to-face, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. As an integrative therapist, I often draw on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). CBT is a practical talking therapy that helps us understand how our thoughts and reactions shape the way we feel. By gently exploring and adjusting these patterns, we can create space for change and relief.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP, the UK’s professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists. Being on the BACP Register means I follow high standards of safe, ethical practice, so you can feel confident you’re in trusted hands.
My private practice is based in Nocton, between Lincoln and Sleaford.
