About me

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, passionate about creating a safe, supportive and non-Judgemental space where you can be truly heard, valued and understood. My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing and positive change when offered the right conditions.

I work by placing you at the heart of the process, listening with empathy and without judgement, while respecting your unique experiences. Together we can explore the challenges you are facing at your own pace, helping you to deepen self-awareness, build resilience and move towards that life you want to live.

I am passionate about working with children and young people. With over 16 years of experience supporting children and young people in residential care. I bring warmth, patience and a deep understanding of the challenges they may face. I create a safe space where children and young people’s voices are heard and they are embraced for who they are. I adapt my approach to suit each individual whether through creative, playful methods or just providing a space to talk and understand their world.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • FDSC in Person-Centred counselling
  • Level 2 in Children and young people’s Mental health

I have worked at St Wilfrid’s hospice providing bereavement support, including the Seahorse project, where I worked with children and young people aged 6-18 years. This has given me specialist skills and training supporting those coping with loss, grief and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
