About me

I believe that when we suffer, the connection with another human at deep therapeutic level can unlock inner resources for acceptance, growth, and/or healing, and I take immense satisfaction being your companion in that journey. I am a very approachable, caring and down to earth person. I like to invest in your safety and autonomy, making you participate and own the therapeutic journey, with respect and transparency.

I work with individual adults experiencing a variety of concerns like depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, illness, relationships, etc. (For more details see "areas I deal with" section down below).

I offer short or long term sessions: online, in person, and by phone. (English/Spanish).

Training, qualifications & experience

BA (Hons) Counselling: Integrated Theory and Practice by Coventry University

My approach to therapy is from an integrative ‘relational-developmental’ stance, which includes Psychodynamic, Attachment Theory, Humanistic and Transactional Analysis. I believe it is in our infancy where we develop processes and adaptations that are key in the way we perceive ourselves, others and they way we face challenge. Working with these internal processes in the "here and now" in a compassionate way can bring surprising shifts.

Other CPD and training:

  • How to do counselling online by The Open University
  • Sexual abuse training by Rosa
  • Sexual abuse training by OSARCC
  • Racial trauma by OSARCC
  • Intensive Trauma Treatment Certification by PESI
  • Touch, Regression and the Body by PIPS
  • Training in the Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder - PMDD Empowerment Program by Helena Tucker.
  • Period and Perimenopause Power by Maisie Hill
  • How to Thrive with Adult ADHD by The Groove
  • How to Sleep well and why it matters by Jo Cullen
  • Working with shame by David Bedrick
  • Somatic approaches in Therapy by Center for Mindful self-compassion

I have helped victims of abuse with the legacy of trauma, shame, and rebuilding their identity (Survivor Space Oxfordshire). I have supported clients affected by cancer leading me to develop my style supporting people with health problems, terminal illnesses, carers, or bereaved family members (Sue Young Cancer Support in Leicestershire).

I have passion towards women and AFAB navigating life stages, and good insight with hormonal or reproductive events, for example with symptoms of PMS, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), or perimenopause.

I also offered general counselling for employee wellbeing services in Coventry City Council and Leicester County Council, presenting a great variety of concerns and issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
