About me

Hello, I am Marlene.

You might be here because something doesn't feel quite right. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, struggling with the impact of trauma, or finding relationships difficult. Whatever has brought you here, I know that taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting. Sharing your inner world with someone you don't know is a brave thing to do, especially if you've been hurt or let down in the past.

At the heart of my work is a belief that healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard and accepted. This is the kind of therapeutic relationship I strive to offer, a space where you feel safe, where you are in control of your journey, and where we work together at a pace that feels right for you.

My path into counselling was shaped by my own experiences and a lifelong belief in people's ability to heal, grow and create meaningful change. I know that life can bring unimaginable challenges, but I also believe that we are never defined by one moment, one experience, or one chapter of our lives.

I began my counselling journey working with women in the community, supporting individuals experiencing issues such as birth trauma, domestic and sexual violence, and challenging family relationships. This experience continues to inform my practice and has deepened my understanding of how trauma can affect people in different and complex ways.

I provide face to face counselling in Holmes Chapel, supporting adults from Holmes Chapel, Sandbach, Congleton, Middlewich and the surrounding Cheshire area and online therapy for adults across the UK, offering a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard.

As a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and trauma-informed practitioner, I take a flexible approach tailored to you as an individual. I bring warmth, compassion and curiosity to our work together, paying attention not only to what is said, but also to the things that can be harder to put into words.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you come to understand yourself more deeply, accept yourself more fully, and leave knowing that whatever life brings, you have the strength to face it.

If you feel I might be the right therapist for you, I'd be happy to hear from you.
