About me
Hello my name is Marie
I am passionate about the value that therapy can offer us as individuals navigating a complex world. I have been in practice for over 10 years and have had the privilege of working with a multitude of clients and presenting issues throughout my career. I work with clients aged 18 + in private practice, and work with individuals, couples and intimate partners. I am an expert in individual therapy, relationship therapy, and sex therapy including compulsive sexual behaviours.
I offer a personalised therapy approach tailored to the individual needs of each client. My aim is to build a safe and trusting environment, guiding clients through an exploration of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also support clients in developing new skills and strategies to improve their lives, whatever this may look like for them.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental but with a willingness to engage in supportive challenge with my clients. I strive to empower clients to make choices and changes that will lead to a more fulfilling life and working towards their desired outcomes for the work.
Therapy can be a powerful way to bring about positive change in your life but starting the journey can sometimes feel a little daunting. Whether you have been in therapy before or not, our first session together will be an opportunity to decide if and how we would like to work together. I offer an introductory session and during the conversation we will discuss what you hope to gain from the work and any needs or issues you would like to focus on. I will provide a non-judgemental and confidential space to explore any thoughts, feelings, or behaviours that you would like to address. My aim is to support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you. I usually offer weekly sessions with regular reviews to ensure our work together meets your unique needs.
I have extensive experience and qualifications in a range of therapeutic modalities, such as Humanistic, Person Centred Psychodynamic and Systemic therapy. I also offer integrative psychosexual therapy and clinical supervision.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
