About me
I am an experienced psychologist, upon qualifying in 2007, my initial focus was on mental health and I worked in various NHS mental health teams with clients who suffered with severe and enduring psychological distress/disorders. As my experience grew and I started to follow my natural interests I started working and specialising in clinical health psychology (women's health, chronic pain, chronic health conditions, illnesses, injuries and medical traumas such as birth trauma, Intensive Care admission etc) and trauma. I am also a specialist in treating Endometriosis.
I am an accredited EMDR Europe Therapist and am trained in various other therapeutic modalities (CBT, person centred and psycho-dynamic) which I use to find a customised fit for your needs. My approach is holistic using a mind body approach which tends to be the most helpful in getting to the root of your problems, as it promotes long lasting transformational benefits, instead of just treating the symptoms which tend to only provide short term relieve. I am also a trained yoga teacher and use some of this knowledge for grounding and stabilising purposes through for example breath and meditation practises but also involves using the vagus nerve to calm an overstimulated nervous system.
Special interest and expertise
I am a specialist in Endometriosis care and have written published articles, did webinars for Endometriosis UK and took part as a clinical specialist on the research panel of NCEPOD (National Confidential Enquiry in Patient Outcomes and Death) who carried out a national enquiry on Endometriosis in 2024. You can read my article and view more of this specialist work on my website.
My style is collaborative and compassionate. You can find more detailed information about my way of working and competencies on my website.
