About me
Life can be challenging at times and you can feel stuck as to know how to move forward. The therapy room can be a space to explore and understand the difficulties you are experiencing. It can help gain perspective and insight and help to move through the difficulties. Giving people a confidential space where they are genuinely accepted and heard is at the core of my practice.
My interest and passion for helping people started in 2012. I am an accredited CBT therapist, EMDR Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. I have developed over the years through training and adopt a more integrative approach. Which means I have a range of resources and methods to use and draw from to provide the most beneficial therapy for your needs. I’m led by what you need.
I offer a free 15/20 minute consultation session by phone, zoom or in person to discuss what has brought you to reach out and what you hope to achieve from coming along to therapy. This brief chat also allows for us to get a general sense if we can work together.
An initial consultation can be arranged through my contact email, telephone, WhatsApp or my website.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist with BABCP. I have expanded on my foundation CBT training over the years with additional training on Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy where we pay attention to how your body holds the trauma. I have trained in EMDR which allows you to process and heal from distressing memories and life events. Unlike traditional talking therapy EMDR does not require detailed descriptions of the trauma.
I am qualified in Couples Therapy which can be beneficial for couples in a relationship, two family members or friends experiencing difficulties.
I provide Clinical Supervision to both qualified and student counsellors across a range of modalities and appreciate being able to support fellow counsellors with their clinical practise. It is fulfilling for me to be able to guide students through their challenges and being part of their growth and development.
I have extensive experience in working alongside those who have survived childhood abuse, sexual assault and rape. I started working with women at a local rape crisis centre in 2012 and found my passion. I have also worked with a range of clients from across the community. From teenagers in local authority school settings to adults within a charity that provides free counselling to a range of people with many different presenting issues.
