About me
Experiences, labels or ‘issues’ are not who we are; we are a human being first and foremost. Sometimes though, it can feel these things do define us or have a ‘hold’ on us. We might work hard to fit into our surroundings: sometimes at deep personal cost.
You might not know what to do or say, where to begin, or where to go. You might feel lost.
Or you might know exactly what you want to explore.
Maybe your self-care and self-preservation work needs something extra.
I’m here to co-create a warm, safe space with you, and for you. I'll work from a humanistic, person-centred perspective; meaning I'll offer deep listening to understand how it is for you; in your world with your unique experiencing, history, beliefs and values. You can talk about whatever you want to; to explore and to process. Helping you towards understanding, of self or others, maybe the world around you. In this non-directive, non-judgmental space we'll work together to connect with your own inherent wisdom, sense of self and needs, taking steps to positive change. We'll work together towards your goals, whether they are practical, emotional or psychological - moving towards resolving difficulties, or finding ways to cope and manage and cope better with life.
It can be overwhelming to find the right therapist and therapy style that is right for you, especially when struggling in some way with life's challenges. Know that I aim to create a space that feels comfortable and safe, supportive and validating. Do reach out for a short chat to see if we can work together (there's no obligation and no cost for this).
I worked in the support sector for 20+years before beginning my Counselling & Psychotherapy training in 2020, so I bring a breadth of experience and training.
