About me

Hi, I’m Mags, a counsellor specialising in supporting neurodivergent clients. With over 20 years of experience working with children, young people, and adults with special educational needs and disabilities, I bring both professional knowledge and deep understanding to my work.

I’m also passionate about supporting women through postnatal depression, the challenges of motherhood, relationship difficulties, and the many transitions life can bring.

I work with women living with chronic health conditions, offering support to navigate anxiety, overthinking, and the emotional impact of ongoing change.

I provide a warm, compassionate space in my garden cabin where you can feel heard and understood, and where we can work together to help you make sense of your experiences, develop new perspectives, and move towards greater acceptance and balance.

Training, qualifications & experience

I take a holistic and flexible approach, tailoring our work to suit you as an individual. My main way of working is through talking therapy, but I also draw on a range of other approaches depending on what feels right for you.

This might include guided meditation, inner child work, reflective journalling, or creative techniques such as sand tray therapy. I also incorporate somatic practices, including breathwork and body-based exercises, to help you connect more deeply with your emotions and physical experience. For those who feel open to it, I can also bring in a gentle, spiritually-informed approach, such as the use of oracle cards.

Additional information

I recognise that financial pressures can make accessing support more difficult, particularly at a time when the need for therapy and self-care is high. Because of this, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces, depending on individual circumstances and at my discretion.

Further information

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and bring over 20 years of experience working directly with children, young people, and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Alongside my counselling work, I am a SENDIASS practitioner (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service). This role has given me in-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals with SEND and their families, including navigating education systems, advocating for support, and managing the emotional impact that can come with these experiences. This insight strengthens my work as a counsellor, allowing me to offer informed, empathetic, and practical support to clients who may be feeling overwhelmed, unheard, or misunderstood.

I work holistically, recognising the connection between mind and body, and tailor my approach to suit each individual. In addition to talking therapy, I am trained in complementary therapies including Reflexology and Reiki, which can be integrated into sessions where appropriate to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.
