About me
Hello, I’m Madison, a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
I work with adults of all genders, offering space to make sense of what you’re carrying and find a bit more ease in your everyday life. My work often focuses on trauma, anxiety, depression and self-worth. I’ve supported people through things like abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, coercive control), sexual violence, perfectionism, identity struggles, ADHD, burnout, and tough childhood experiences.
Are you tired of feeling stuck with overwhelming emotions that you wish you could understand? It’s completely understandable to feel lost when trying to navigate challenging emotions. But you don’t have to carry that burden alone. Together, we can explore these overwhelming emotions and find ways to make sense of them. Healing is possible, and it begins with taking the first step toward understanding yourself and your experiences. If you’re ready to find clarity and start moving forward, I’m here to help guide you through this journey.
As a therapist with lived experience, I understand how overwhelming anxiety and trauma can be, and the impact it takes not only mentally but also physically. Navigating life after a traumatic event/s can feel incredibly challenging. But I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to do this alone. That's why I help individuals like you process and understand their anxiety and traumas, whilst healing and working towards new and more fulfilling ways of moving forward.
I believe that everyone has the potential for growth, healing, and transformation, and I approach each client with warmth, respect, and a genuine desire to understand their unique experience. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns at your own pace.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is very much a warm and empathic one. I will encourage and guide you in unpacking and rebuilding your inner world, whilst helping you finally feel safe and secure in your own life.
My work is centred around a Trauma-Informed approach. This means our work together will focus on building safety and trust. We will work collaboratively to navigate the topics you choose to bring, whilst working at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Within my practice, I commonly integrate different parts of other therapeutic techniques- if I feel they may be helpful. This is something I will always discuss with you to see if you feel this would be a good fit.
My work is grounded in ethical practice, confidentiality, and a commitment to your well-being. I believe that therapy is a journey, and my goal is to empower you to gain insight, find clarity, and cultivate positive change that resonates in your life.
Sessions
I currently offer online sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis. I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation in which you can get a feel for me and the way I work, discuss your presenting issue, and I can answer any questions you may have. There is no pressure after this consultation to book a session, and if either of us feels it's not the right fit, I'll do my best to signpost you to alternative therapists that might be better suited.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer a free 20 minute initial conversation where we can have a chat about what our work together would look like. This is also an opportunity for me to get to know a bit about what brings you to counselling and to form an understanding if we would be a good fit. You are welcome to ask any questions during this!
I also offer a reduced/concessionary fee. Happy to discuss this with you at the point of enquiry.
