About me

I currently provide Telephone and Remote sessions.

Hello and welcome. I'm Madison, a dedicated and compassionate integrative counsellor, committed to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and embark on a path of healing. With experience from a CAMHS inpatient setting, alongside working with counselling charities and Place2be, I’ve worked with individuals from a range of diverse backgrounds, providing support with struggles such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, and trauma.

I believe that everyone has the potential for growth, healing, and transformation, and I approach each client with warmth, respect, and a genuine desire to understand their unique experience. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns at your own pace.

I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, and I recognise the profound ways it can shape an individuals life. Trauma often impacts how you view yourself, others, and the world around you, leaving you with feelings of fear, confusion, isolation, and emotional pain. I approach each person with a deep sense of compassion and respect, and I firmly believe in your innate ability to heal. In a safe, non-judgmental space, we can explore the effects of trauma together, helping you rebuild your sense of safety and trust, and begin your healing journey at your own pace.

How I work

My approach to therapy is rooted in Person-Centred Theory, which means I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a warm, accepting environment where you feel valued and understood, allowing you to explore your emotions and experiences at your own pace. My role is to listen deeply, reflect with empathy, and support you as you tap into your own strengths and resources for change.

There is no one size fits all approach to therapy, Although my approach is rooted to the Person-Centred theory, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to tailor sessions to your individual needs. I work collaboratively with you to understand your goals and challenges, and find the best approach to support your growth.

I aim to help you better understand yourself, uncover underlying patterns, and develop practical tools to navigate life’s complexities. Our work together is a partnership where your voice, choices, and goals guide the process.

My work is grounded in ethical practice, confidentiality, and a commitment to your well-being. I believe that therapy is a journey, and my goal is to empower you to gain insight, find clarity, and cultivate positive change that resonates in your life.

Initial consultation:

Initially, I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to understand your situation and your therapy needs. Within this time you can also ask any questions and see if I am the right fit for you- it is important that you find a counsellor you feel comfortable working with.

I know that seeking help can be scary and I would like to make this process as easy as possible for you; if you have any specific requirements that will help this, please let me know.

- Madison

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
