I am a down to earth person who is caring and passionate about helping people just like you to find understanding and answers to your questions to how you are feeling. I work in a warm, trustworthy, respectful and non-judgmental way as I believe you are the only expert of your own life. I can offer you a safe, comfortable and confidential space in my therapy cabin where you will be listened to without criticism or judgement.
I can help you increase your own self-awareness and knowledge to manage your thinking, emotions and feelings so that you can start living a life in the best way for YOU. So you can live a life that feels in sync with who you are. Together we will find understanding to your possible fears, anxieties, worries and default patterns of thinking and behaving that are holding you back from feeling content, having healthy relationships, or being successful.
During our sessions we can explore ways for you to move forward that you feel are right for you. I can also help you to rediscover and strengthen your own values and beliefs along with your inner resources increasing your self esteem, confidence and establishing a stronger sense of self. I will work at a pace that suits you offering short or long term counselling encouraging and supporting you in any aspect of your life that you seek answers to and would like increased knowledge of.
I feel my role as a counsellor is to help you raise your own self-awareness and knowledge leaving you feeling encouraged, empowered and supported to make different choices and changes in your life.
WHY I BECAME A COUNSELLOR
I understand how you might be feeling, you are not alone, I have been on my own counselling journey of personal discovery which empowered me to make my own choices and enabled me to be in control of the changes that I wanted to see in my own life. My new found belief in the therapeutic process motivated me to train as a counsellor. This learning along with my own journey showed me that we all have an innate ability to know what is best for ourselves, we just may need some extra help in finding it.

Mental Health Conditions
Working at the mental health charity MIND for many years I gained experience and knowledge seeing clients who had a variety of Mental Health Conditions. I specialise in working with people who are struggling with the following :- Anxiety, Depression, ASD, and those who have suffered from and continue to suffer with various aspects of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Trauma, Memory Flashbacks/Nightmares and Sexual, Physical, Emotional Abuse also those who are experiencing feelings of anger and worthlessness; lacking in self-esteem, confidence and feeling overwhelmed.
Inner Child Therapy :- Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be ? Do you find yourself behaving and reacting like a child but you can not understand why ? All of us carry around an "Inner Child" as a child we have basic needs of love, safety, trust, respect and guidance. If those basic human needs go unfulfilled our Inner Child may experience fear, anxiety, shame, anger, rejection and neglect, they are at high risk of developing abusive behaviour towards self and others, creating problems in all areas of life.

When I first stepped through Lynne’s door I was a broken woman, I’d lost all of sense of my true self and worth. I really connected with Lynne. A wonderful professional, knowledgeable, patient, understanding person. In the past, I had attempted counselling and it was awful. It really put me off; so, when I meet Lynne, it was refreshing and I suppose it was a massive relieve for me.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

Full Description of the following therapeutic techniques I use:-
Psychodynamic :- This encourages the client to open up and explore unresolved issues and conflict hidden in their unconscious and predominately from their past that are affecting their mood and behaviourin the here and now
Solution Focused :- It works by helping clients solve problems without tackling them directly, explore links to the past experiences and times when they were as happy as they see themselves in their future vision. These processes aim to evoke a sense of hope, clear realistic goals and expectations to make a future solution seem possible
Transactional Analysis :- Transactional analysis is a talking therapy. Sessions are designed to explore an individual's personality and how this has been shaped by experience - particularly those stemming from childhood. I recognise that we all have the potential to live the life we want, rather than the life we are programmed to live. Sometimes however this potential is hindered by repetitive patterns or 'unconscious scripts' that have been formed in our past
Gestalt :- Gestalt therapy is a humanistic therapy technique that focuses on gaining an awareness of emotions and behaviours in the present rather than in the past. The therapist and client work together to help the client understand him/herself. This type of therapy focuses on experiencing the present situation rather than talking about what occurred in the past. Clients are encouraged to become aware of immediate needs, meet them, and let them recede into the background. The well-adjusted person is seen as someone who has a constant flow of needs and is able to satisfy those needs
CBT :- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.

Initial Confidential 20 Minute Phone Assessment The initial phone assessment session is an opportunity where you can give me some brief details about yourself and your reasons you want to come to counselling. From this we can assess your needs and discuss your best way forward. This initial appointment is without obligation and an opportunity for you to ask any questions or express any concerns you may have.
- 1 HOUR SESSION £45.00.
- STUDENT Counsellors (evidence of course enrolment) £35.00 for 1 Hour Session.
Payment is due in cash or bank transfer at the end of each session. Unfortunately, I do not have the facility to take card payments.
