About me

Hello, my name is Lyndsey and I am an accredited therapist with the BACP, bringing over nine years of experience working with children, young people, adults, and families across a range of sectors, including education, forensic services, charities, stepped care, and occupational health.

I am trained in multiple modalities and can therefore use a range of therapeutic skills to meet the unique needs/preferences of my clients.

Stepping into therapy can be daunting. The idea of sharing with a stranger things that might evoke deep feelings of shame, fear, anxiety or guilt can be enough to put people off for longer than it should. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space for you to share and explore the difficulties that you're experiencing and believe (through having been told) my genuine warmth and authentic nature will put you at ease, so that you feel comfortable enough to share things with me.

I offer face-to-face sessions in Chester and Mold (I pay for room hire, which is reflected in the price difference), walk and talk within a ten mile radius of Mold and Buckley and online sessions.

I also offer clinical supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors and use the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision to support reflective practice and deepen understanding of client work and the therapeutic process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained in Person-Centred Therapy (Post Graduate), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and counselling for children and young people (Level 5). My practice is also informed by Thought Field Therapy, Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP Level 1 & 2), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT British Isles).

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
