About me

Hello, my name is Lydia. I am a qualified person centred integrated counsellor, in Inverness.  I work face to face, within the city of Inverness and online, for those who are unable to meet in person, due to preference or geography.

I offer a person centred integrated counselling approach, which fosters resilience, self confidence and a sense of personal empowerment for my client, within a safe, nurturing confidential space. Putting the person seeking counselling at the centre of the therapy.

I know I am not the expert on you and I haven't walked your road. My approach helps you identify the challenges and the ways for you to learn to over come them. This removes the focus on what is perceived as a personal limitation and gives direction, focus and planned progress. This encourages you in goal setting, decision making to prioritise the acknowledged progress of the healing process.

I will meet you in a safe relaxed space, to invite you to look honestly at yourself and your patterns of behaviour. whether they are healthy or unhealthy. I will show acceptance of you and your beliefs, being honest and transparent in how I experience your life's journey. Showing empathy and regard for your perspective.

I offer a free telephone call to introduce myself and allow you to ask questions and feel comfortable before we accept a time to work together. Please feel able to email or phone me. I will respond quickly, if I am not able to answer straight away, please leave a message.

Thank you for reading and I wish you well in your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
