About me

As a passionate male counsellor who has worked with a variety of genders, from lots of different backgrounds. I can say I have found a way of working with my clients, that I am confident in and believe can bring change to your life. By being a counsellor who actively engages with you, explores your worries with you and meets the needs you have session to session.

By feeling connected with me, we can work together to help you feel connected to the world, the people you love and more importantly yourself. By exploring why we are feeling lost, anxious, depressed or whatever you may be feeling, we can find ways together on how you can manage your thoughts on your own.

Sometimes rather than trying to fight against anxiety or depression we can have more success working with it, understanding where it stems, how you experience it, and why the mind and body might be feeling this way. Sometimes when we fight against our experiences without the right understanding and tools it can be tough. I’m here to support you through this process.

Taking the first step into counselling can be a tough one, and so can choosing the right counsellor. I will guide you through the process to make it a comfortable and memorable part of your life.

By online or by phone we can connect at a time that suits you. We can work together, around the difficulties of daily life to find you that time you deserve. I have helped people through Loss, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and depression to name a few. I will give you the time and space you need to explore whatever you want.

About me and how I got here.

I started training at inter-psyche through the NHS in 2017 where I achieved a certificate in counselling skills and was awarded a diploma in integrative counselling with credit. I have also been awarded a certificate in online and telephone counselling as I wanted to be able to offer you my skills in the most accessible and modern way. I am a member of the BACP, registered with the ICO and have professional liability insurance.

I have experience with working with all types of people from all different backgrounds. Most recently I have been working with parents through two schools and in the past have worked with sixth form/ college students. We worked together through a range of their worries, such as domestic abuse, anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm, suicide and eating disorders.

I’m a parent who has worked though depression and loss. I have been to the difficult places like many of you and I am proof that you can develop through the personal growth within the counselling experience. Counselling showed me I was in control, and I was strong enough to not only change, but succeed in becoming a qualified counsellor myself.

I hold the strong belief that people are perfectly imperfect. They are beautiful and spectacular but can also become stuck, unhappy, and unable to live a fulfilling life. That is where I come in.

As a qualified male counsellor, my experience allows me to understand the best ways to address each client’s needs. My integrative training supports my flexible approach where I work to a person-centred core as the basis of my therapy, putting the relationship with you first. Which means you are the centre of our work together and I tailor the therapy to your needs.

If you feel you're ready to take the step into face to face or, online counselling, a free 15-minute consultation is available with me by just contacting me via the below.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

A free online or telephone 15 minute consultation.
What to expect.
In this free online, or by phone consultation we can briefly explore what you would like from counselling, your end goal and how we can achieve that together. We do that through an assessment form which allows me to tailor the counselling to your needs.

We can also cover what to expect through our sessions together, from the beginning to the end, so you feel comfortable with the process. I'm dedicated to making the experience whatever you need it to be.

The consultation is slightly different to a regular counselling session, here is what to expect. It can be weird, awkward or anxiety-provoking to meet for the first time, this is normal and expected.

The consultation is how we get to know each other and for you to make sure you're happy to work with me.

During we will work through an assessment to see where you are at, so I know what has been going on for you. I'll also share any thoughts or observations, so you know what I'm thinking aligns with your experience.

I can answer any questions you might have, it's OK if you don't have any.

I'll also share the general outline of what therapy will look like; this can slightly change as we get deeper into therapy if needed. This will include how I will work with you, the order of things and how we can track how you're doing.

A 50 minute online or telephone counselling session £50.00.

What to expect.
I believe that every single human being has a bit of healing to do. Through this tailored 50-minute counselling session we can explore whatever you feel you need to. Using my integrative training we can look at how your past may be affecting how you see the world, how everyday things may be feeling too much for you, or even just vent because someone has annoyed you at work/ school.

I meet your needs by meeting you where you are at any given moment with a non-judgemental and a non-expectant view.

As a society we don't allow ourselves the time each week to look after our mental well-being. I think everyone, including you deserve that and regardless of how we see ourselves are always in need of self-exploration.

I have helped students, parents and individuals from all different backgrounds have a better understanding of who they are, where they are and who they want to be more clearly. This is how I can help you, if you're thinking about online counselling and aren't sure, we can arrange a consultation with no obligation to continue into therapy at all.
