About me

You found your way here because of your courage and your desire for something to change. I understand how hard it can be to reach out. Our work will start by honouring your strengths and supporting you to hold and ease the challenges that you are experiencing. I hold an anti-oppressive space to support you to bring whatever you are seeking to change or understand. Together we will resource you to adapt to physical and emotional shifts, increase your awareness of your needs, and to feel more present and content in your life. To believe that you have choice and to feel you have positive control.

I offer counselling and supervision, online and in person. I also offer walking and wilderness therapy on Dartmoor where we use the landscape around us to explore and understand more of your self and your life. Through curiosity and exploration we will build your sense of who you are, to be confidently you, and thrive.

It’s hard to change patterns and behaviours that aren’t serving us well, even when we want to, and they can take us to the darkest places. I also know the feeling of freedom – how through healing you can be YOU with confidence and courage. Contact me to have a brief informal chat, to see if together we can help you find your way forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer counselling and supervision. I am an experienced counsellor supporting clients with a broad range of challenges, particularly childhood and relationship trauma, domestic abuse, relationship issues, and difficulties relating to LGBTQ+ identities.

I have worked as a counsellor for a domestic abuse charity for the last six years. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I spent 20 years advocating for and supporting individuals and families with neurodiversity and disability needs.

I am an integrative relational counsellor and hold your needs at heart. My approach focuses on you and what you want and need. Areas of specialism include family systems, somatic, creative and transpersonal approaches. I hold sessions online and in person.

Walking and wilderness therapy takes place over a range of locations across Dartmoor and the surrounding landscape. Sessions are tailored to your physical and emotional needs and can form part or all of the way we work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
