About me
When we’re feeling stuck or in pain, it can feel impossible to know how to move forward. We may feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges, or have a constant anxiety which plagues us, even if everything seems okay on the surface. Whatever your reason for being here, I will meet you where you’re at. My wish is for you to feel heard, seen, valued and understood, so that together, we can create a safe collaborative space for you to explore what is going on for you.
As a BACP registered psychotherapist specialising in somatic and embodied trauma healing, I have proven experience of helping clients to process and release the emotional burdens which are holding them back. This modality of working aims to get to the root of past trauma which has become trapped in our body, mind and nervous system, keeping us stuck in loops whilst forcing us to carry the pain of the past into our present life.
My intention is to help you get to the root of your challenges through cognitive understanding (to bring what is unconsciously running your life into your conscious awareness), inner parts work (re-integrating split off parts of yourself to bring you back to wholeness) and processing emotional trauma through the body by rewiring the nervous system and dismantling old coping mechanisms, helping you to release the pain which is keeping you stuck.
I believe in your ability to heal yourself, that you already have everything you need within, and that my job is to support you whilst you process the emotional build-up which is splitting you apart.
Practicalities:
I conduct sessions in person in Greenwich SE10, King's Cross N1 or online via Zoom. I offer a discounted first session (£45 online, £50 in person) so that you can get a taste of what it would be like to work together before deciding if you would like to commit to ongoing therapy. You can email me through Counselling Directory or head over to lucymary.com. I hope to connect with you soon!

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
