About me
I offer a warm and compassionate space for you to talk about whatever it is that may be troubling you. As a fully qualified counsellor I am trained to help you explore what its like to be you and to guide you to find new perspective and direction.
As you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, what you want and how you relate to others, your emotional wounds transform into wisdom and your relationships deepen, the burdens of the past and worries for the future become lighter as you begin to live more freely and fully in the present.
Some of the more common issues I work with are family issues, difficulties in relationships, divorce, anxiety, trauma, life changes, bereavement, domestic violence as well as a wish for self development and more creative expression.
If you'd like to have a relaxed, no obligation chat to find out if therapy is right for you at this time in your life do get in touch, I'd love to hear from you. My practice is in the centre of Frome in a peaceful and discreet setting and I also see clients online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified Psychosynthesis counsellor and psychotherapist in training. I am a professional member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a trainee member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).
I have an advanced Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychology from The Institute of Psychosynthesis, London. Psychosynthesis offers a hopeful and holistic approach to human growth, blending psychotherapy and neuroscience with Western and Eastern mysticism and philosophy.
Alongside my private practice I work for the charity Trauma Breakthrough in Bath providing one to one psychotherapy, group work and psycho education courses. I also have experience working with people affected by cancer and domestic violence.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
