About me
I am a person-centred integrative counsellor for individuals and couples. It is truly a priviledge to work with clients. I hold a safe, accepting, empowering space where we explore what you are going through. I do not believe people are 'broken', but the results of carrying too much can weight very heavily.
Everyone is unique, so in getting to know you and working with you, I find whatever is the most effective way to help you move forward. I work with you to reflect on realisations to enable you to live a life with less distress, difficulty and pain, and to engage with those around you and the world in a healthy and fulfilling way.
'Thank you for helping me to understand why I do the things I do and feel the way I feel'.
'My only wish would be that I could spend an hour every week with Lucie. I feel so much better than when I first came to see her. She was completely on my wavelength'.
For many of my clients issues of loss, rejection and low self-esteem are extremely painful and impact their lives, sometimes for many years. There are numerous individual reasons and causes for these feelings.
'I felt heard and validated which was completely nourishing and helped me to trust my own self and my intuition, something I have always struggled with. Working with Lucie was invigorating and has left me feeling positive and empowered'.
In private practice and at Counselling Plus I have worked with diverse clients from all backgrounds with many different issues and of all ages (adults).
Particular specialisations -
Bereavement (current and historic) through work as a Bereavement counsellor at St Wilfrid's and St Michael's Hospice.
Adoption and Fostering I am an independent adoption and fostering panel member plus I have lived experience of being an adoptive parent.
I offer a 15 minute free phone chat or whatsapp video meet up to see if you feel you would like to work with me. It is crucial that a counsellor is a good 'fit', on your wave length and that you feel they can hold the space for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
