About me
Maybe you are looking at seeing a counsellor for a specific issue such as Bereavement, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Neurodiversity, Relationship issues? Or maybe things just don't feel right in your life. I am a qualified person-centred integrative counsellor. What does that mean? The basis of my work and training is that with support and in a safe, non judgemental space we explore what you are going through. There is no one size fits all, everyone is unique and so I use different ways to find whatever is most effective to help you move forward. Maybe you have losses, and past experiences to heal, or questions that never got answered. Maybe relationships and connections to the world around you are not how you would like them to be. Bring whatever you need to.
'I felt heard and validated which was completely nourishing and helped me to trust my own self and my intuition, something I have always struggled with. Working with Lucie was invigorating and has left me feeling positive and empowered'.
I work with you to reflect on realisations to find ways forward to engage with life and those around you. For example, I have found that for many of my clients issues of loss and self-esteem are extremely painful and impact their lives, sometimes for many years. There are numerous individual reasons and causes for these feelings.
'My only wish would be that I could spend an hour every week with Lucie. I feel so much better than when I first came to see her. She was completely on my wavelength'.
Although I have worked with clients with many differing issues, I am particularly experienced in the areas of -
Bereavement (current and historic) through work as a Bereavement counsellor at St Wilfrid's and St Michael's Hospice.
Adoption (Independent adoption panel member) plus lived experience of being an adoptive parent.
At Counselling Plus and in private practice I have worked with diverse clients who come to counselling from all backgrounds with many different issues.
I offer a 15 minute free phone chat to see if you feel you would like to work with me. It is crucial that you feel that a counsellor is a good 'fit' and on your wave length.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
