About me

I’m Louise, an integrative counsellor with a Person-Centred foundation

I know starting therapy can feel daunting, so my aim is to create a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need the “right” words or to be anyone other than yourself. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in past events, anxious, angry, or trying to make sense of life’s experiences, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

I work with adults, children, and young people, tailoring therapy to each individual rather than expecting people to fit a particular model. My approach is warm, genuine, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through ethical authentic human connection.

Above all, I want you to feel safe enough to simply be you. Because that’s where meaningful change begins.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am committed to continual professional development and maintaining the highest standards of ethical, evidence-informed practice. My qualifications span integrative counselling, psychology, trauma-informed practice, mental health, education, safeguarding, and therapeutic interventions, enabling me to provide holistic support to children, young people, adults, families, and professionals. Alongside formal qualifications, I regularly undertake specialist training to ensure my practice remains current, responsive, and aligned with best practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Fees

Sessions are charged on a sliding scale between £40 and £60.

I believe that accessing therapy shouldn’t be determined solely by financial circumstances. The sliding scale is designed to make counselling more accessible while helping to sustain my practice and offer lower-cost spaces where possible.

If you’re able to pay towards the upper end of the scale, you’re helping to make therapy more accessible for those who may otherwise struggle to access support. If paying £60 would make therapy difficult, we can discuss a fee within the range that feels manageable for you.

If you’re unsure which fee is appropriate, please don’t worry we can have an open conversation about it during your initial enquiry.
