About me
Welcome to my page!
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over eighteen years experience working in mental health and I specialise in working with complex difficulties, people who are experiencing multiple difficulties at once or those whose who difficulties have been unresponsive to previous therapies. However, whether you are dealing with a specific longstanding issue or are seeking help with a more recent difficulties, I am here to help you.
I work with adults with various types of anxiety difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, difficulties with life transitions, depression, difficulties with eating and weight management.Together we can work to uncover the root causes of your struggles and develop effective strategies to overcome them. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. I
I am trained to work with a wide variety of difficulties across the age range but in the last fourteen years have specialised in helping adults in NHS teams who help people with complex difficulties and another specialist team with helps people with eating and weight difficulties. I have over eighteen years of experience in delivering psychological assessment and therapy within the NHS in Scotland and privately.
I work with a team of experienced Clinical Psychologists offering appointments at clinics in Stirling (15 minutes/ 13 miles from Falkirk) and Perth as well as online appointments. I am currently offering appointments online via Zoom or our online practice management software only but my colleagues have availability for new clients face to face (psychologists/CBT Therapists) and you can find out more about each of us and how we work on our website: www.psychologicaltherapyscotland.co.uk
I have availability during the day Monday to Friday and usually one evening per week as required.

As a Clinical Psychologist I have training and experience in working with more complex problems where someone may have been suffering with difficulties for a long time or with multiple problems at once in addition to more mild to moderate issues. I tailor my treatment to each specific individual to get the best outcome.

Training, qualifications & experience
I worked for over 18 years in the NHS and privately delivering psychological assessment and therapy in adult teams, child and adolescent mental health, primary care, secondary care, specialist teams such as plastic surgery and burns, alcohol related brain damage and eating disorders before more recently moving to work in private practice full time (in March 2019) having working part-time in private practice since 2014.
Supervision
I am also an experienced supervisor of other psychologists, CBT therapists and other delivering psychologically informed treatment within the NHS. I have experience of delivering supervision training within the NHS. I myself receive supervision for all my clinical work as per the standards of my registering bodies.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), University of Glasgow (3 year clinical training)
- Bachelor of Science (BSc Honours, 1st Class) in Psychology, University of Stirling
- Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (BSc), University of Edinburgh
These are the qualifications I require to practice as a Clinical Psychologist, however I also have numerous additional qualifications in particular therapies, difficulties and approaches such as DBT, CFT, ACT, EMDR etc.
Professional Registrations
I am a fully qualified HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist. The HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) is the governing body which all Clinical Psychologists in the UK must register with in order to practice. I am also a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society which means that she meets the society 'gold standard' of psychological knowledge and expertise and adheres to high levels of ethical practice and shows a commitment to continuing professional development. I am also an Associate Fellow of the BPS, a member of the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology Scotland and the Association of Clinical Psychologists.

British Psychological Society
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
