About me
Hi, I’m Louise. I am a Counsellor/Psychotherapist working with adults covering a range of problems including; addiction, depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, self-harm, low self-esteem, ADHD and stress. I work in person on a short or long-term basis.
Starting a course of therapy can be a daunting prospect, you are probably feeling vulnerable and unsure of yourself. I believe that the success of any therapy rests largely on the relationship between the therapist and the client. I will endeavour to put you at ease from the very beginning and work at your own pace. Together we can explore your reasons for seeking help and look at how you came to be in your current situation. By allowing you the space to do this without any judgement, in a safe, confidential, and comfortable setting, should help you to develop greater awareness. This awareness should enable you to feel stronger psychologically, increasing your ability to live your life to its fullest.
I work in a Pluralistic way which means that I incorporate different types of therapy; psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), as and when I think they will be beneficial to you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience helping people with addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, self-harm, self-esteem, ADHD, bereavement and loss amongst others. I have particular experience helping people with the negative effects of addiction, and work as a counsellor in a local charity which specialises in this type of work.
