About me
I am an accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 15 years of experience and I have enhanced DBS clearance. I offer both day time and early evening appointments for individuals, both adults and children, providing a compassionate, confidential and professional counselling service when you need it.
You may be thinking about counselling to help you deal with a specific, focused issue or situation. Or you may be looking to resolve more general feelings and thoughts that are negatively affecting your life. Either way, I can provide counselling for a range of issues including self-confidence, self-esteem, abuse, stress and anxiety, trauma, depression and low mood, anger, relationships, life changes, bereavement and loss. I will work with you to help you achieve your goals and find resolutions.
Trauma: I am a registered practitioner member of the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy, where I trained in the Rewind Technique - a fast and highly effective way of putting an end to the distress of Post Traumatic Stress and its symptoms including flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, traumatic recall, etc. If you think this could help you please do get in touch.
If you are not sure whether counselling or psychotherapy would be right for you and would like an initial chat to find out how it could make a difference to your life, please get in touch to arrange a free, no obligation 30 minute consultation with me.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work from a quiet, pleasant therapy room in the heart of Newark town centre, just off the Market Place. Newark is easily accessible by bus, train or car, with ample car parking nearby. My therapy room is only a few minutes walk from bus stops, Newark Castle train station and local car parking facilities.
I also offer online and telephone clinical supervision sessions for therapists who prefer this way of working or for whom it would not be possible to get to my practice.
