I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, working online and in Devizes in North Wiltshire, with adults.
I am a trauma informed practitioner, and am able to work sensitively with different types of trauma. I also have experience of working with anxiety, depression, bereavement and issues from childhood.
I work with a particular focus on the relationship between counsellor and client.
My integrative training means that I have been trained in and can draw on a breadth of psychotherapeutic theories and approaches. I mostly draw on humanistic theories, putting my client at the centre of my work, and working with empathy to support you in healing and in growth.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Metanoia Institute and have been working with clients since 2018.
My integrative training means that I have studied a range of psychotherapy theories and approaches. I focus on the relationship between client and therapist, and work primarily with client and person centred humanistic theories. I work in a sensitive, trauma informed way, with awareness of linkages between mind and body, and also use neurobiology research in my understanding of clients.
I am a member of BACP, which means that I have committed to work within BACP's ethical standards and framework, and I have met their standard for proficiency.
I am also in the late stages of completing an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute, and am a trainee member of UKCP.
I have completed training in working online with the Online Therapy Institute, and safeguarding training.
I bring many years of experience in a corporate environment to my practice.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
I offer an initial phone discussion to discuss your needs and agree whether we would like to work together. For each session, I charge £45 per 50 minute session, payable after each session by card or cheque at the end of the session, or online if working online.
Some concessionary spaces are available at a reduced cost.
I have some availability on Mondays in Devizes, and online on Fridays.
I work online, or in central Devizes, with easy access to parking.
I am unable to offer to work with clients who are actively engaged in sexual offending, those who have severe active addictions, those with severe and enduring mental illness.
