About me
You may appear to cope well on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or constantly stuck in your own thoughts. Perhaps you spend a lot of time overthinking conversations, doubting yourself, worrying about how others see you, or trying to hold everything together without really knowing how to switch off.
I offer a calm, supportive environment where you can explore whatever is going on in your life without judgement or pressure.
Sometimes people come to counselling with a clear issue they want to work through. At other times, there is simply a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right. You may be feeling anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in patterns of self-criticism, or tired of carrying everything internally on your own. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow things down, reflect more deeply, and begin to understand yourself with greater clarity and compassion.
My approach is warm, thoughtful and collaborative. As a person-centred counsellor, I believe each person has their own inner wisdom and capacity for growth. Rather than offering advice or telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, reflective individuals who are used to coping independently but feel exhausted by constantly analysing themselves or managing everything internally. Some struggle with self-worth beneath competence — appearing capable to others while privately feeling not good enough, emotionally sensitive, or disconnected from who they really are.
Therapy is not about quick fixes or sticking labels on you. It is a place to think clearly, feel heard, and make sense of yourself in your own way. In a world full of noise, pressure, and constant online commentary, counselling can offer a rare opportunity to pause and reconnect with what is actually going on underneath.
Areas of particular interest in my work include:
• Anxiety and overthinking
• Self-esteem and self-worth
• Rejection sensitivity and emotional intensity
• Adults exploring ADHD or neurodivergence
• Life transitions and identity changes
• Relationship patterns and boundaries
• Emotional overwhelm and burnout
I have a particular interest in working with adults who are beginning to understand themselves through a neurodivergent lens, including ADHD and Autism. Many people receive a diagnosis later in life or start recognising traits in themselves after years of feeling different, misunderstood, or somehow “too much”. Therapy can offer a compassionate space to explore this more deeply, helping you make sense of your experiences and develop a more accepting relationship with yourself.
I work with adults both in person in Birkenhead and online across the UK, offering 50-minute sessions.
If you are considering counselling, you are very welcome to get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute initial call so we can talk about what you are looking for and whether working together feels like the right fit.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
