About me

I have over 25 years experience offering Counselling, CBT, and Psychotherapy to people struggling with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
During this time, I have worked across the NHS Primary and Secondary Care sector, in Schools and Colleges, in private practice, and in the voluntary sector. This breadth of experience has allowed me to support adults, young people, and families with many differing needs, from mild emotional distress to more complex and longstanding difficulties. These difficulties can range from low mood to severe depression, complex grief, anxiety, childhood abuse, Bipolar, PTSD, OCD, and Personality disorders.

I am also an accredited Clinical Supervisor for Counselling and Interpersonal Psychotherapy and an accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapy Trainer.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual. I believe that therapy works best when you feel heard, understood, and supported, so my aim is to provide a safe, calm, and non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I draw on different approaches: Person-Centred Counselling, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), working flexibly to suit you rather than following a “one size fits all” model. Together, we can explore patterns in relationships, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, helping you to gain clarity, build resilience, and develop practical strategies for change.

Please get in touch if you are struggling. It does not matter how small or large you feel your difficulties are; I am here to help you, and I look forward to working with you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
