About me

I found my way to being a Psychologist because I am deeply curious about people and what makes us ‘tick’ and I struggle to see suffering without doing something to help.

My Approach

If you’re expecting a silently nodding psychologist with a grave expression and not much to say, I’m probably not the right therapist for you. There is, of course, a time for silence and for pondering but I offer interactive sessions with a focus on understanding, problem-solving and growth. There is great value in exploring how a problem developed but there comes a point where insight is not enough and action is required.

A one-size-fits-all psychological approach usually fits no one very well, which is why I use an integrative approach drawing on several evidence-based psychological modalities to help you to uncover the very best version of You.

Training, qualifications & experience

Until recently, I worked for the NHS in a specialist service, with people who have experienced trauma and who have complex emotional needs. I was also a DBT Therapist in the Trust’s small DBT Service. I currently work Monday to Thursday in Private Practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
